Placed in the serene setting of the village of Karukutty, is a man's dream, an abode for his family and generations to come. The Floating Deck House is the tactile translation of traditional values that the family holds close to their heart - their love to convene and bring together their close knit family, an eagerness to spread a treat or two for their friends and their aspiration to leave behind strong roots for the generations to come. Influenced strongly by the Suriani adaptation of Kerala homes and classic European philosophy, the home connects to an era bygone, while striding forward.

Connected by a strong central spine, the levels of the site are differentiated into three zones, each with its own significance, adding to the entirety of the home. Free flowing, tall and well connected spaces adorn the plan, and accommodate seamlessly, the numerous gatherings and festivals that take place here. Split sectionally into two levels, the entry level comprises the family living spaces, while the lower level is recreational, taking the site's slope and incredible view to its advantage.

Every room in the house is meant to bring the family together, beginning with the tall Ficus that welcomes on arrival and becomes the center stage for family events, to the Floating deck that overlooks into the vast greenscape, that is an integral part of the home as well as their everyday life. Witnessing every milestone in the family, from baby steps to numerous anniversaries, this house is a strong witness for the generations to come.
